Yesterday I got my repaired JMR Concorde Supreme left speaker back from my trusted fixit guy (blown woofer thanks to a short in phono cartridge). It's been away quite a while since I had to wait for replacement drivers from France, so I had not heard these speakers on my BC 204-KQ. On the basic 204, they sounded very good, more authoritative than their smaller siblings, the Orfeos, but not quite as engaging. On the 204-KQ, they are spell-binding. A stunning blend of authority and delicacy, power and intimacy. If they stay this good on more music, they will likely replace the Orfeos as my go-to speakers. Yes, the 501ob LOC is also likely a factor here but based on what Jean Claude Reynaud tells me about the responsiveness of both Orfeos and Concordes to better amps with more current, I'm pretty sure where most of the praise should be directed. So another vote for the KQ.
