Some amps and preamps are known to be very hard on 6922's - the Audible Illusion's preamp comes to mind. Do Gilbert's newer Blue Circle designs put a lot of stress on the input tubes? Good to know before spending money on NOS tubes. Thanks.

Funny you should ask........... Gilbert and I were discussing this just a few weeks ago.
Some products are designed around a specific brand of tube and then push that tube to its limits. If you use a different brand of tube in one of these products you can be in real trouble.
There is a word for this sort of design...dumb.

You don't have to be concerned about any BC product beating up on your tubes. Gilbert may be wacky but he isn't dumb :)

Thanks. I agree, pushing parts beyond their limits is bad design.
