Quiet Device PC

Post by masluck » Thu Dec 13, 2012 9:19 pm

Hi Nikki,

I can't comment on what mysteries are inside the BC QD PC, but I had a problem with transformer hum in my old BC26 when I moved back to upstate NY and into an 1860 farmhouse. When I got my BC85.1 upgraded to BC6000 status, GB installed a "quiet device" on an outlet and that transformer hum "be gone". I tried many techniques, a PS Audio Humbuster, etc. and nothing worked. I finally said, what the heck, let's ask the guy who designed and built my amp - well, there you have it.

:( :) :D

Thanks Mark. I was wondering what it was for.

These things work like a charm. I have transformer hum whenever the plasma tv gets turned on (same circuit), so I got this quiet device built into a box with half a BC6000 which I plug the mono amps into. There's a switch to defeat the QD portion when tv is off ... so no heat.

I also have one, and it removed the transformer hum from my system.

My new FC cord

Post by Frank » Sat Dec 22, 2012 11:35 am

I got my FC Quiet Power Cord recently and it really makes a huge difference. When I got my new FtTH2, there was a hum from the power supply box. I live in a 7-story building, and apparently there's a lot of grundge in the power lines.

Anyway, the FC cord cleaned it up like a champ, and now the FtFH2 power box is dead quiet. I'm a BC newbie, and I've been extremely satisfied with the BC products.

FC Quiet Cord

I've just ordered one myself. I've had a happy FtTH2 for many months now, preceded by an equally happy FtTH1. Neither ever hummed a note. And then, a week ago, my 2 commenced to hum.

GY says somebody in the neighborhood may have added some big power hungry/angry item, no telling. I am promised that the FC creates perfect silence with NO detrimental effects on the sound. I believe everything our master says, as should you.

By the way, for those who don't know, I am not a newbie, just lost my log in info and had to start over again.
