So after the glowing review for the NSL, you just had to ask: what

"a mono NSL and mono NSP for each side"

Soooooo..........why not one amp with the strengths of both the NSL and NSP?
....with mabey the obligatory outboard power supply?

I don't get it
What was Gilbert "hearing" that gave him this thought?

Gilbert then outlines his plan for a pair of bi-amp monoblocks. Simply put, the plan is to have a mono NSL and mono NSP for each side. The NSL

Well Jeddy, that's kind of the idea that drives this... one amp that does contain the strengths of both. The problem is that you have to build two amp modules to achieve the goal, because the NSP and NSL are pretty different design topologies, so making a single amplifier that will contain the best of both worlds would be pretty much impossible. Since their differences really do combine in that "peanut and chocolate" sort of way, a dual module monoblock really is the better way to go, and you get attenuation control of the low end of the amplifier - very handy indeed.

What Gilbert was hearing was two different flavours on very good in two different amplifiers that he suspected - correctly - could be used in tandem to produce and even greater musical result. He was right, and the real amps - when built - will likely sound better than the current improvised version.

That's why I'm the consumer and Gilbert's the genius.

Oh....and I prefer almonds with my chocolate.

but thank you for the response.
