Thought I'd continue this thread under a slightly revised title, since the first thread indicates a BC703, which is actually a very fine phono stage...
I'm now midway through my third week with the BC307. I'm both impressed and surprised - impressed because virtually my whole CD library is listenable now, and surprised at how well the concept of mixed preamps can work, and how much a 6SN7 tube can bring to the table in certain situations.
For the most part, I think that the BC307 is a set and forget type of component, though I do fiddle with it a bit for certain problem recordings. It adapts nicely to different speakers, and I'm pretty sure it will do the same for different rooms. So far I've had no problems getting ATC, AAD, the BM2 speakers to sound good.
All in all a very nice preamp that I seriously have to consider putting my money where my mouth is with.
