Amp for Martin Logan Summit X's?

Post by alwayslearning » Fri Dec 26, 2014 7:18 pm

I'm debating between a BC amp, probably the 204, or a Pass Labs x250.5 for my Martin Logan Summit X's? The impedence ranges quite low on these speakers. My preamp is the Zesto Audio Leto.

Has anyone compared these amps on ML's?
Or, if you are driving ML Summit X's, which BC amp(s) are you using?
Thanks, Musically & Happy New Year

You may know that Gilbert drove (still drives?) Martin Logans with BC amps for ever.

As you are probably aware, there are a lot of BC amplifier owners who love the synergy with their Martin Logan speakers. My two cents is that since you have a tube preamp, you might prefer a BC solid state amp. Of course, if you have heard the 200 series and really like it, go with it-- it's a fantastic sounding amp. However, in the solid state category, I would suggest you to speak to a dealer about the NSP. You'll have the warmth and richness from your Leto preamp, but the speed, clarity and dynamics that the NSP delivers in spades. I think it would be an amazing addition to you system.

Good luck with your search.
