The CS should be able to do a pretty good job as long as you don't really push the volume hard. However, no disrespect intended to the CS, but it is an "entry-level" component for high end, and the Trentes should be significantly better with something like the NSCS....

Why not listen to the Twins, first, with the CS and then the Trentes to see if they sound tht much better with the CS to justify the additional cost.

i used to have twins and regret selling them. i had an opportunity to pick up some trentes but hesitated. i'd really like some Shahinian Compass speakers to go with my custom CS... saving pennies now!

i have Shahinian Arcs with a BC 28 and its a great combo!

Bob Neill just announced on Audioasylum that the Trente's are soon goin to be history.

Your CS is going to be smoother on the lower and higher end because the shalco's give you better control. It's also possible that the puck means a bit more power. Here are my top 3 speakers for the CS:
1. JMR Twins - easy load
2. Harbeth Compact 7 - not hard to drive
3. Harbeth HLP3 - a little hard to drive

I bought the twins because I couldn't afford the Compact 7 and I didn't like the no-med to low bass option with the HLP3s.

By the Twins. Use AN Lexus Speaker cables and Lexus ICs. They reall fit perfectly with the CS. Bob Neill can sell you these.
