I don't listen to talent shows. And I certainly don't care much about the new crop of singers coming out of those musical competitions. The last worthy singer to come out of those "Got Talent" broadcasts, was Susan Boyle.
But there is always an exception to every rule and this exception comes in a tiny package by the name of Jackie Evancho.
Not only does this eleven year old soprano prodigy endowed with an angelic voice, she can also handle some of the most difficult arias with power and grace. Totally unbelievable prowess belying her age.
None of those past talent winners would be worthy to sing in the same room with her.
Her rendition of 'Nessum Dorma' from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot, will send goose bumps up your spine and even a man-tear.
She has already performed on equal footing with some of the greatest names.
A real jewel...!!!
