A few months after I bought the BC21 and BC22, the latter's blue light failed. I went to replace the light but the screws require a special tool to open it. Now the 22 won't even play. I must have blown a fuse but I can't tell. I can't open it because of the weird screws.
Why not put Phillips screws or regular screws on your units? I can't afford to send it back to you to fix. Why do you do these things? |

Light bulbs burn out, newer BC gear uses a LED. Older gear like your uses a bulb which will burn out.
Screws should use a standard hex wrench, nothing weird there. A 5/64th Hex should work.
Nothing wrong with BC Electronics. As the US repair facility I see less than a handful of repairs a year. Almost all of the repairs can be attributed to one of three things.
Environment - Power issues
Miss use - Playing very loud for a long period of time. Unstable input or speakers.
Accident - Tripping on speaker cables and pulling them off when playing. Connecting or disconnecting cables or tubes with power applied.
Have you tried contacting the seller with your issues?
Mike

| Punker X has explained the light and the screws. Regarding the BC22, if it is both channel stop working, it may be the main fuse on the back of the unit. If it is blown, it may be caused by the internal MOV shorted the input to protect from a surge. |

I've owned my BC21.1 and BC22 (now, monoblocks) for many years - something like 6 or 7 years, I think. No problems with the lights, or the operation of either unit, during that entire time. I don't recall any of the other forum posts reporting such issues either.
Jymn, I'm sorry to hear you are having a few issues. Punker X and Gilbert have already replied, and I hope you are able to resolve your issues quickly! Good luck.
ps - get yourself a set of hex wrenches. Not only useful for BC gear, but for bicycle repair and sundry other things around the home... _________________ http://theaudiogardensf.blogspot.com/ |

My apologies to Blue Circle and Don Leman. I was celebrating too much last night and wrote this stupid post. I love my BC21 and Hat Peed Thingee. They sound great and work flawlessly. I am more frustrated with myself for being too lazy to go to the hardware store and get the correct screwdriver to replace the light and blown fuse in my 22. I will do that Monday.
Again, my apologies for this rude and misplaced post.
Case Closed.
Please delete this thread as it does not reflect my true feelings about Blue Circle. |

Don't worry about it Jim.
I didn't mention in my phone message but I do have spare bulbs and fuses if you can't find them at your local hardward store.
Give me a call if you need help. _________________ Don Leman

Jymn:
Delete it? Not unless you absolutely insist.
This thread does a wonderful job of illustrating how misunderstandings (fueled by celebration or not) can be resolved amicably.
Welcome to the forum.
