I was never, ever a big fan of home made brew. Every time I was offered one, I would do the politically correct thing but never asked for seconds. The taste was always too yeasty, bland and w/o body. Heck, 0.5% near beer was just as palatable...
Still, I want to try my hands at it. There's got to be a good recipe out there, preferably on the dark side. _________________ Mike |

To start, try a Festa Brew kit (or Coopers). If you like that, you can try your hand at home brew from scratch.

I bottled my wine this morning; an Australian Shiraz and a Sauvignon Blanc.
The brewing company does carry the Festa Brew kit. I will give the Oatmeal Stout and the White Wheat beer a go.

All I can say is that after this trial, I'll have an informed opinion. If the wheat beer can taste like an Hoegaarden and the Oatmeal Stout like a Murphy, then you'll know where to find me...You might have to ring the door bell a few times. _________________ Mike |

Once my current batch of wine is ready for bottling, I'll start with the beer.
But I don't do it at home, I go to http://winekitzmoncton.com/ _________________ Mike |

After bottling another batch of wine yesterday, I finally got off my butt and started with the beer.
First kick at the cat with the Double Oatmeal Stout.

Cheap considering that an 8 pack of Guinness is selling for $26 in New Brunswick.
Ready for bottling on the 13th of February. _________________ Mike |
