Nice review.. always makes me have a bit of faith when it ends with the reviewer buying one. While I know that's not a possibility on every product that trots through a reviewers rig.. it sure adds a note of credibility to what's been written.

I just got my own BC6000 back after upgrades to X1e status, and I do believe there are some pretty noticeable improvements.. .. but, I do have to hold my enthusiasm.. as "someone" mentioned that there will be a about a 500hr run in time on it.. arrrrgh !

Hi Double D

How's the Xe1 upgrade sounding now?
I have a 6000si and I'm seriously considering getting a Xe1 plug-in for it so any thoughts on sq would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Three words... JUST DO IT !

To be honest.. I was rather skeptical that doing the X1e update done on mine would make AS big a difference as it did.. largely because I am bordering on overkill with the level of filtering going on..
I run the 6000, with an MR1200 plugged into it.. and the whole front end gets plugged into that ! The PSU for the 303 is monstrous and has KQ tech in at as well.. so.. I figured that X1e was rather just gilding the Lilly, however my experience with the little PLC Pucks told me that adding some X1e to my 6000 would certainly do no harm.
I think where the X1e really makes big gains is on the digital gear.. it just seems that a whole layer of grit has gone the way of the dodo, probably one of the few times that extinction is a good thing !
I think the X1e really makes an already excellent filter, that much better, and if like me you live in ACcrapLand.. then whatever measure you can take to help it are worth it.
