Anyone into this?

I know Dave I is, because he got me into this. Heavy metal is new music to me. You don't have to turn this thing loud to enjoy them. They are actually sound pretty darn good. I think most audiofools would prefer to skip the heavy metal stuff because of many reasons that we know. After I listen to this band, I am not skipping heavy metal. At least I will give them a try before I say no.

Most live heavy metal concert probably way too loud for me and that was probably why heavy metal get a bad rep in audiofools circle. Put one in a good system and it may change you mind.

I can actually hear the lyric!!! Cool

I'd like a poster size version of that album cover for the listening room. Wife will love it!

I've never heard Manowar but if you want more metal try "Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs" by the band Ministry.

OMG, I did a double take when I saw this post. If G can get into metal, then I have to give Christopher Campbell another chance Shocked Razz Laughing

I have been trying to find Gods of War without much success.

Thanks Dave.

I should have qualified my earlier statement ... I haven't had success finding it in Canada. I was hoping to avoid all the brokerage fees but I may bite the bullet.

Don't force yourself into any music you don't like. I listen to Gods of War and I like it right away. It IS actually music. Despite all the talk about heavy metal ink lo music and just noise. At least I heard music from this CD, if this qualify as heavy metal, then at least some heavy metal is real music. Heck, the lyric in this CD actually have meaning and good meaning that is to booot. And they ink lo whining about their life suck, nor whine abooooot their girl fans dumped them neither.

I do draw the line on rap. Confused Cool

I saw Manowar in Cleveland last month, yes in fact they play VERY LOUD in concert, not the point that I had to leave, like most times I hear bands, Karaoke, DJs in some pubs, I have left after they started playing.

One you might not expect.

There is a lot of really good metal and hardcore stuff that can recharge and purify me when I need it. I must admit though that sometimes it is better to ignore lyrics an concentrate just on that powerful sound.

I like for example:

PANTERA - War Nerve
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z50-6cxlzpY
I have 1 problem with this: I need better power amp to feel that kick drum properly...Must work out something with Gilbert I guess...

or

MASTODON - Capillarian Crest
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkCi8zq_K-o
Great playing, especially from 1:09...

or

NOMEANSNO - It's catching up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPyAii6f-hc
Great hardcore from Canada. I`ve seen them live and it was really something. Effortless and at the same time tight delivery. People went nuts.

After all that adrenaline I chill out using for example:

CARPENTERS - Sandy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8U-l9Q8RKE

or

TIM HECKER - Arctic Lover's Rock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rgepWg4rzw

or

complete silence...

Here is the proper link:

Tim Hecker - Arctic Lover's Rock -

It is not metal, but contrasts are good for perception.
Silence can enhance appreciation of noise.

That is one of the reasons I like super quiet BC headphone amp I have.
