TAVES Toronto Nov 2013 - Gear List and Music Suggestions

Post by Raven » Sat Sep 14, 2013 8:57 am

Mystic Audio will be representing Blue Circle Audio again this year at TAVES in Toronto Nov 1-3. Last year we featured the new CS2 integrated, assorted Blue Circle cables, BC6000 filtration and alternating AAD Silver Reference and Penaudio Cenya speakers. This was a modestly priced system and it demonstrated Blue Circle's innovation and value. Other than a couple of comments about "perhaps a little more bass' the feedback was fantastic. I have struggled to understand why someone would expect subwoofer bass from bookshelf monitors and a 50 watt amp but hey, audiophiles are not lacking in uniqueness

This year Mystic Audio will be featuring a completely new system featuring a B505 DAC, BC307/L3 preamp and NSP power amplifier, all filtered by a BC60X1 power conditioner. :!:

The new BC60X1 has the same amount of filtering as a BC6020 plus a balanced power outlet of 750watts. Six of the twelve outlets will go through the balanced transformer as well as the parallel filtering. The rest will pass directly through the parallel filtering.

Since we have moved to a significantly larger room this year we will also be able to bring other BC gear to the show, all for sale at show special pricing.

Being a dealer at a show is mostly a great gig. One of the few downsides is choosing what music to play. Not everyone appreciates the same music, the same listening volume and since the average attendee stays in a room for one or two songs at most, the opportunity to showcase the equipment's capabilities is short to say the least. If you have any suggestions on what recordings would be exceptional at making an impact in a small window of opportunity I would greatly welcome the advice!

Thanks for the suggestions. All new stuff to me except Innuendo, one of my all time favourite albums. You were all correct, they sound really good!

I dont know if i am in time..but last night i was listening to SADE (album: the ultimate collection)..her voice is silky jazzy and she only uses analog instruments as far i can recognize..coming from the lowest octaves going into the highest octaves... Its like jazzmusic but more modern style...its bliss to listen to her.... Cant wait to listen to this also on my, still to be finished by gilbert, new amp that hopefully will be here at my doorstep around 15dec.. :D.. But on my simple but excellent sounding 337 she sounds wonderful!

No Bieber? Well FINE then! C&T to the rescue.

Bluecirclerookie, please don't encourage BK. He seems harmless but he's taken out entire forum threads with his unique 'talents'. Oh the horror!

Just so long as we don't get stuck with either Robin Thicke "Blurred Lines" or Miley Cyrus doing... well .. anything !
