BM2

Since Blue Circle has always been known as an electronics company it's surprising how many customers and folks at trade shows over the years have asked us about the possibility of a Blue Circle speaker. It wasn't until we went looking for a good pair of speakers for our own use at shows that we realized maybe those folks were right. We should do our own speakers.

Since we didn't have the expertise to design or capability to build our own speaker in-house (we're an electronics company, remember), we sought out a company that could build a speaker to our exacting specifications. After almost 6 years in the making we finally have one: The BM2.

The BM2 debuted at the 2007 Rocky Mountain Audio Fest and we took note of many listener comments. After the show we did more listening ourselves, and we concluded that we could do better, so back to the drawing board. At 2008 RMAF we unveiled version 2. Still, we thought we could do better. Back to the drawing board once more. Now we feel that we have finally got it right.

Allow us to introduce, The BM2.

The Sound

We mentioned above that one of the reasons we designed our own speaker was our futile search for what we felt was the ideal speaker for our own use.

Most of you reading this know what we mean. You shop and shop for the perfect speaker and find a few that almost make the grade and wind up settling for something that is close to your ideal speaker but falls just a bit short of your expectations. We're in the enviable position of not having to settle for close enough. We had the resources to get it right and we think we did.

Any speaker design at an affordable price is a matter of priorities. Our first priority was neutrality. We wanted a speaker that allowed the refinements upstream to be appreciated. We weren't looking for a speaker that draws attention to itself. After all, the stuff upstream is Blue Circle too. We wanted a speaker that compliments the rest of the system rather than trying to upstage it. What that means is that with The BM2 you just might find yourself hearing what your system is really capable of for the first time. Take any recording you like. When played through the BM2 you will here things in the music that you were unaware of before. The soundstage is wide yet focused. The bass is deep, yet tight and only produced when it's really there. The remainder of the audio spectrum is reproduced with an accuracy that must be heard to be believed. Based upon the time-tested Walsh technology, The BM2 has no "sweetspot". You can sit or stand anywhere in your listening room and still hear the high frequencies perfectly. The BM2 can be driven full-range or in bi-amp mode.

The Look

Speakers are often the focal point of any listening room. As such, we required the BM2 be attractive while having the ability to blend in nicely with any decor. The standard finishes are walnut veneer or oak, with other woods such as cherry, teak, and rose wood as available options.
