THE FtTH2 HYBRID INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER

The FtTH2 is a true second generation product. We’ve kept all the good (what makes the FtTH an FtTH) and improved (enhanced) it. The result is the FtTH 2.  With the ability to add the KQ Power Box, the total filtering is over 650,000uF.  This results in a much darker background which yields improved low level detail and reveals more of the details in the music. It gives the audience a much clearer picture of what they are hearing.  At the risk of sounding cliché: The music really will draw you in and make you forget about the machinery.

Due to the size of the KQ Power Box, special circuitry is required to control the soft start to prolong the life of the amplifier.  Our experience with building experimental and custom power amps with power supply capacitance well over 2,000,000uF (2 Farads), means we have carefully designed and tested many soft start circuits over the years. If you don’t mind us bragging a bit, we are the experts. The FtTH2 is the first production amplifier which benefits from those years of experience doing power amp soft start circuits. The soft start for the tube filament and B+, Auto muting for the output stage and interstage are just a couple of examples of  the FtTH’s extensive soft start network which protects the amplifier and the speakers from turn on and turn off transient noise.
